Graduation Announcements

Hello All:
I'm not sure where the time has gone. Kathryn is graduating next week and then off to Cal State Monterey Bay. I am very proud of her hard work. I wanted to celebrate with something a little different than the traditional announcements and create more work for myself! :) I started with a gatefold card using Bazzil's black cardstock.

Here's the project supply list:

Martha Stewart Scoreboard
Bazzil Cardstock - Black and Magenta
Glitz Design - Love Games Cardstock (love this!)
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Pearl
Versamark black and magenta ink
small colored rhinstones
Sentiments printed on parchment paper

Cut your black cardstock 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and score @ 2 1/8" and 6 3/8".
Cut matting (3) from Magenta cardstock to fit picture, quote and announcement inside.
Cut 2 Love Game strips (1 7/8" x 5 1/4") and 1 (4"x4") piece for the inside of card.
Glimmer mist ALL the cardstock and ink edges.

Assemble outside of card first.
Here's a little hint..... I glued the small quote to one side of the panel leaving the top portion open. I took the picture and slide it into the unglued corner so that it can be removed from the card and saved.

And last..... Add your mounted announcement and embellishment to the inside.

Congratulations to all you Grads. I hope everyone will be enjoying a safe and sober graduation.

My Son

Wow... My son just turned 21. Where has the time gone? I remember:
  1. His super-blond hair
  2. His obsession with being a cowboy (he's an awesome trickrider now!)
  3. His stuttering. We were so worried. Turns out, his mind was going faster than his mouth.
  4. His bowed legs (great for a cowboy).
  5. His love of Playmobile (cowboys and knights)
Just to name a few. (teary eyed now) :)
He goes to Sierra JC and will transfer to Chico State in the fall. He also works as a student intern for Placer County in the Road Department which leads to my project. I created a stamp with my TC Stampmaker that reflects all the things I think of Nick and I found these awesome Road sign paper and stickers by Reminisce.
It was a pretty simple card so I really don't need to give directions. I just loved it and I fell in love with making this stamp because I could create exactly what I wanted to say. More to come like those!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Did any of you get to scrap or papercraft? Not me. My daughter took the EPT/ELM tests @ Sac State today and Senior Ball tonight. So here's how my day went.....
Sac State @ 7:15 - I had nothing to do that early (Nordy's isn't open) so I sat in my truck, listened to the radio and did a couple things on my laptop. What I didn't realize was that my lights were also on and my battery went dead. :(  I had to call Road Service and wait an hour to get a jump.
My intentions were to run over to Scrap n' Stamp in Elk Grove to check them out. Finally I made it. Ok my friends, I love this scrap store. I met Kim and Sommer and they were so nice! I loved seeing their projects and the embellishment bar was genius! They had the latest stuff and I so enjoyed talking with them.
So, if you are in the Elk Grove area, Check them out.....

Then...... Senior Ball for Kathryn. Let me brag a bit..... She was beautiful. :)
I picked up my mom and we went to K's friends house and took tons of pics. Now I'll be up half the night waiting for her to come home.

All in All, It was a great day and I'm exhausted. Have a great Mother's Day everyone! Those kids grow up so fast, stop once in a while and just enjoy them!

I Won!

I won! I never win anything! Teresa Collins and Amy @ A Paper Life gave away a spot in Amy's Life Journaling class with mixed media. I am so excited to get started with this class. I have been so curious to get into mixed media and life journaling. I'll have to add some stamps I make with my stampmaker. :) I am a fan. What a wonderful opportunity. And..... I'll share what I learn.

Classes Begin!

I'm so excited to tell you all. I will be starting new classes for the Summer. Those of you who are in the Lincoln area (email and google followers, friends and family) please consider signing up and enjoying an evening with me. Each month we will be spotlighting new products, techniques and tools for the beginner to the avid scrapper/stamper. Projects will include glues, ribbons, bling and the latest mixed media on the market. Each class will be a "themed" project highlighting a vendor, tool or product (sometimes a few). We will always have at least 2 different designs to choose from. We will also have an order list if you want to purchase any of the items highlighted.

Can't make the date? I will have kits available after the class for purchase for $15.00 (Stamp sentiment will be pre-made).
SPOTLIGHT FOR THIS CLASS: Teresa Collins Stampmaker (Check out the Gallery).
 Here's the scoop:
May-Gift Box Workshop                                                          Wednesday, May 25, 2011.... 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Class is limited to 10 participants so register early.
Cost: $20.00 Spring or Graduation inspired (your choice) - Fee includes materials, instructions and of course, a special dessert and coffee. What good would a class be without food????

In this project everyone will create this special 4x4 "gift box" along with a small sentiment stamp based on your selection.   You choose when you register whether you would like a "Life is Good" Spring box or  "Dream Big" graduation box.  We'll be using the Glitz and Echo Park lines that are beautifully designed double sided cardstock and add rhinestones, pearls, flowers and ribbons to design your unique box. Use this box for a gift card (optional card insert included), trinkets, candies, jewelry, etc....  In addition, you'll take home instructions to make your owned "themed" boxes.  Please email me at lazycowgirls@ gmail.com to sign up and I look forward to our first class together.

The graduation theme can be adapted to boy or girl by different colored embellishments. I love love love this line!

This is the Echo Park design and the colors are so vibrant. You'll mix and match to create the perfect spring gift box.

Here's a sample of the box. I used the Teresa Collins line for the paper so your final project will be different BUT you won't be disappointed.
