Happy Valentine's Day

I hope you are all sharing some love with family, friends or that special someone. Try and give a little kindness today to a stranger; you never know what their burden may be.
I created this card without any of the traditional V Day colors AND used my stash. I’ve been trying to clean out stuff so I’m finding all kinds of things I forgot about. Isn’t that always the case?

Just a simple sentiment inside the card. That's all it needed.
For those of you who do not go to CHA, there is a ton of make and takes and I did a few. And then a few more. So I saved all my stuff and incorporated a few little things in my card.
I used the following on this project:
K and Co ephemera collection and buttons
Co’ordination Cardstock
Want2Scrap pearls
Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks (Wild Plum and Stream)
And of course, Helmar’s Glue to stick it all down! I used 450 and Gemstone
Mosaic tiles from CHA

The flower came from a make n’ take @ Lindys Stamp Gang….. Lovin’ their stuff. Aren’t the colors vibrant? They have some “Try Me” packages for their sprays. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll be getting my hands on some soon.

I adhered these tiles with Helmar's Gemstone and the Flower with 450. I know you hear me say alot about Helmar Glues but they really are great. They have never failed me. I ran the cardstock through my cuttlebug and used the alcohol inks on a sponge dabber this time and added a little demension to all the pieces.  I also change the color of the pearls, I love that I can do that with the inks. Pretty convenient.
I hope you enjoy the non-traditional theme of this card. Have a great day!

Curvey Girl

Please join The Polka Dot Closet for a Dress Form Party. I'm linking up to the party with a fun project. This was my jewelry hanger and I had it in the give away box and fished it out. If you get a chance visit the party to see some amazing dress forms. I was so impressed.  Check it out.....

From This
My Supplies:
1942 McCalls Magazine
Mod Podge
String of faux pearls
Butterscotch Alcohol Ink
Lace

I roughly painted the base and cap with deco paint. I used Mod Podge to adhere the magazine pics. Isn't that face beautiful?
Those swirls are actually Want2Scrap pearls that I recolored with Butterscotch Alcohol Ink.
Curve: The loveliest distance between two points - Mae West
I added some cranberry alcohol ink to this frame and adhered it with Scrap Dots so it would stand out. I added my lace and charm with Helmar's 450 (My fav)
Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Cowgirl Journal

There are so many linky parties and challenges this week so I'm trying to keep up. :) I'm going to share another repurposed project with you. I bought a couple of canvas covered books for $2.00 each and dug into my stash again. The book had holes already drilled with ribbon running through it so that was a bonus when I started putting everything together.

My mother gave me a necklace and earrings that she received as a gift years ago and would NEVER wear. :) Really Mom? Why not?
My scraps of leather, Helmar 450 Glue, chain from the necklace, Versa color ink , swirly stamp and away I went........
Rubbing the gold across the leather left a pretty sheen that you can't see that well here.
I stamped the swirls randomly. Loving this stamp. I just can't remember who made it!
The chain from the necklace worked perfectly weaving through the holes in the book.
Here you can see where I ran my leather through my Cuttlebug. You must wet you leather really well in order to get the embossing to stay. AND.... it has to be thin, soft leather to fit through. But I love the look of this tooled leather without the work.

You and Me

Hi Everyone:
I had a wonderful Sunday creating. Of course I watched the superbowl and let me say Kelly did an amazing job on the National Athem. I am such a traditional person when it comes to that and I don't want anyone adding their spin on it! Just sayin'. So, I've been trying to get out of the norm and use some different colors and I'm likin' it! I made this cute V-day card. The picture is from a free site but I can't find her now. I think her site is gone. I've been trying to use my stash also and it's amazing what I'm finding. I collect too much.

My supplies:
Various Cardstocks (old stuff-no name)
Versa Color Bamboo and Green Tea
Art-C Green Bead Mix
Bo Bunny Chipboard letters (Etc.. line)
Cuttlebug and Embossing folders
Antique Lace
Helmar's Glue
I ran some cardstock through my Cuttlebug and used the Bamboo ink to bring out the embossing. I used both inks to edge all the cardstock, picture and letters. It makes all the pieces stand out when put together. I strung the beads on wire and threaded them through the picture. I also ran the ink lightly in the lace to add a little color. I love all these beachy colors even though I'm a mountain girl!
BTW, I'm sharing with Sugar Creek Hollow  in their latest Beach Vacation challenge. Join me if you can!
Enjoy Your Day My Friends. - Kim
