Heavy Heart

HI Everyone.
Wow, it's been a while since I posted. I've been doing some soul searching lately and I have realized that I have been running in circles and going nowhere. When I first started blogging, my goal was to open my little retail website (not done), teaching classes (one done and might I say a successful one), creating kits (not done) and eventually open a little brick and mortar store (maybe).
I realized I was becoming (well became) a hoarder of craft supplies to sell and items to alter but I was just collecting and not creating or selling. My garage and house was becoming ridiculously full of junk. This weekend I began organizing and purging. I didn't even know where to start so I bought a bunch of totes and garbage bags and jumped in. I'm only keeping what I really really want. That's the hard part. I want it ALL.
When I was challenged by Tracy (love her, thank you Tracy) over at  TW Studios to create one word for myself, I chose "Mother" then I changed it to "Create". Much better! I made my first canvas below, I realized THAT is what I need to do and I'm not. Of course, life, work, kids, friends, family are so important that I can't always do that but I do have focus now.
I don't usually do a lot of personal insights here because I want this to be a fun site for creating but you may hear more from my heart in the future. OK..... off to do more purging. Have a great week everyone.
I'm heading down that Happy Trail!
Kim

I have been urging lately too. We have taken what seems like 30 or 40 boxes of stuff to the thrift shop and several boxes of "still in style" household goods to a new immigrant.

I am still in the process of finishing up the old craft supplies in the garage. 90% are going to the thrift shop.

it is scary but feels lighter. I do make things for new immigrants from Muldova (used to be a part of Russia. I kept enoght stuff to make some Xmas centerpieces, some Xmas ornaments and a few wooden Xmas shapes to paint and glue to a wreath.
Everything else is going to go!

Good luck with your purge...you will feel better each time you return to the task. I have had to break mine up into a day or so a week as it is a lot of work. DH had a heart attack wo he can only lift a bit at a time.

I have even given about 8 inches of PP and a ton of non shiny stickers away to a new scrapbooker.

Have fun with it.

We all go thru it and the Foresthill Fire made me think... what do i really want to pack up and take? in my craft room, it was almost 'all of it' so i decided i needed to be more organized, just in case...
i'm sure you will get to all the things on your list, just not all at once... as you prioritize, what first, then the next, it will fall into place.
Your blog is great and you keep it up, i think that for right now is GREAT!!

Purging is good for the creative soul--don't despair, just keep at it!!

Wanted to stop by and say a big THANK YOU for the beautiful paper pack. I'm planning on digging into it this week, such lovely papers!

Hi Kim, I'm so sorry you are having a difficult time. Sometimes life gets in the way. Purging is good, as we all say. You will get there...rest assured. Just take one day at a time. Time does seem to fly by.
