You May Kiss Your Cowgirl

Hi Friends
I was commissioned by my friend Jan to create a vow book for a wedding she is officiating. She is heading to the hills to perform this old time ceremony on horseback so we wanted (of course) a vintage western theme. I can't wait to see the pics of the wedding. They'll be all decked out in their vintage western wear. Can I just say this is what I love to make. I hope they will cherish it.
The leather look material was perfect for this. I originally tried with real leather and it was just too heavy.  I used a lot of Tim Holtz products. You can see the forevermore muse token and swivel clasp in this picture.

I repurposed a book. The book was canvas covered that just so happened to have the word "Love" already on it. Peeled back the material and added a Making Memories metal frame. Added a concho (Tandy Leather) and another button from Tim's collection. Again.... MY favorite concho (love my stars) and I gave it up for love. Time to go shopping.
I layered another concho (recolored with Expresso alcohol ink) with a round piece of  metal and then a clear button from Tim Holz.

I tied up the book with leather and realized when you turned the pages, the leather tore the paper. Dang.... So I added cardstock from Glitz Girls and distressed all the pages with Tim Holtz Tea Dye and denim inks. The pages had to be loose in the book in order to turn easily and I ended up liking the style.
Sharing with ScrapeScene WIP Monday and French Country Cottage. Won't you hop on over and take a peek?
How many times did I say love?
Happy Trails, Thanks for stopping by. Kim
