Bookmark.

Since all of us (oh wait...just me!) are cooped up because of the rain and other junk, we're probably doing a little reading by the fire. Doesn't that sound just cozy? I thought I'd make a little bookmark for that special book AND since I'm using "what I have" I don't really remember where the materials came from but I think paper is from K & Company and I know the tokens are from Tim Holtz. I just love these muse tokens and have used them alot on projects. I didn't make this stamp with my stampmaker but I don't know who the manufacturer is. Sorry.

OK......... Confession: I am out of firewood and I own a Sony Reader. But it was a nice thought!

Stuff Around the House

Hello Everyone:

I can't even count how many days it's been raining here in sunny California. The rivers are running high and we are all a bit concerned with the levees in the Sac Valley but here in the foothills we are more worried about the soaked ground and the big beautiful oaks that surround our houses. I hope everyone is staying safe!

Since I haven't been able to drive yet, I'm sticking with the "using what I have" theme.
SO..... I had all these spools of ribbon stacked in my craft closet and really had to dig to find the right colors or go buy it because I didn't know I had it. Sound familar? Anyone? Anyone? I had a small container that I bought at the Dollar Store. You can get these plastic baskets everywhere and really cheap. The key is to have holes of some sort in them and that's it. I actually went back and took the ribbon off the spools because that gave me more room.
Hope Everyone is having a great day!

Sketch Book! The Next Great Idea?????

Happy Day!
As some of you know, I've had a little surgery and I'm recuperating. I hate it! I can't drive or go to work (you'd think I like that part, but nooooo.). So I thought I'd try and get a few projects I've been thinking about done.
One of my creative goals is to have my own clear stamp line (you all know I love my Stampmaker) and I decided I needed a sketch book. Of course I want to run to the ART store and pick one up but can't. Come on!!!! I have everything here to make my own. What's wrong with me? I need to stop collecting and start creating. I have all these gadgets and just needed to think about what I wanted.
I purchased The Cinch a while ago and only have played with it a little. I must admit when I made the book, I didn't read the instructions for the Cinch and kinda messed up on the binding but what the hey.

My project list:
  • Basic Grey Cardstock (Motifica line)
  • Core'dinations Cardstock (Burnt Sugar)
  • Crate Paper Phrases (My new fav brand - Check it out)
  • 2 sheets coordinating heavy cardstock
  • Tim Holtz Muse Tokens
        • Plain ol' copy paper
Cut all your cardstock to 8 1/2 x 11 1/2 ( I cut mine too short) and bind the cardstock with the copy paper or... if you don't have the Cinch, just punch some holes to your liking and add jump rings and ribbons. Let's try....... for this project to use whatever we have in our stashes.  I used the burnt sugar and Motifica together for the front and the 2 cardstocks for the back. You want to have a sturdy surface to write on. So I just gathered up some loose embellishments and slapped the front together. Simple Simple Simple

I wanted to give myself some sort of inspiration and I found the phrases from the Crate Paper line I bought not long ago. They are self-adhesive so I just put all of them on every couple of pages and we're done! So simple. I think these books would be great for outline sketches, wish lists, recipe books (my Kitchen Keepsake friends) etc..... I'm going to be making up different sizes and sharing them here.

When I make my first sketch, I'll share!!!!! I'm on a roll since I can't go spend moola!

Oh wait.....There's always the Internet!

A Girlz Story......

It certainly is! First of all..... a couple of shout outs. Welcome Alma! Another follower and I'm so thankful. And a big shout out to my friend Monique. She's recovering from a little somethin' somethin' and I want to wish you a speedy one!
My bestest friend Marla came over and I used her as a guinea pig with the stampmaker. She's doing a scrapbook for a friend's new baby girl and wanted to personalize it. She had never seen the machine so I wanted to show everyone how easy it was for a beginner. She designed her own stamp, printed the negative and we went to work making it. Well, as you can see, not really working.....we always have fun when we get together. Just one though. ;)  Enjoy your Saturday everyone. So far, it's beautiful and sunny here (I need to wash my windows!) but I hear the rain is coming in.

Workin' it!

Marla has a great classy style and it shows in her design

The Finished Product......I love it!

My First Business Project

Happy Monday Everyone:
Remember a few weeks ago, I was sitting on the porch???? Forget that now. It's freezing!
I'm excited to share a stamp I made for a small business in Folsom, Ca. The shop is a really cool ladies boutique and if you get a chance to stop by, you won't be disappointed. Here's their website.... Kissed Good Buy . It was a surprise gift for the owners so I had a heck of a time trying to find the font they used for their logo. But it was fun, they loved it and commissioned me for some other stamps and my first stencil. I'm going to use the stencil to etch shot glasses with their logos. I'll share that when it's done. Here's the pics and I am so grateful to all of you for supporting  me. I'm having so much fun with the stamp maker.

Happy Spring! (Sort Of)

Good Morning Everyone!
As you can see, I had my #1 fan
with me the whole time. Scout LOVES
 everything I make.

I wanted to share what I did yesterday. I had a bit of a free day. Well, really I should have been cleaning house but what the H, it's not going anywhere. The weather was so beautiful, I thought I'd drag a little table on the porch and do a little V-day stuff. Here's my work station....... I needed a little sunshine so I sat out there and crafted away. It was so warm, I started with a sweatshirt on and that didn't last long. Finally had to bring out the sunglasses. Try sunin' and scrappin' (I just made that up!) sometime, it's really relaxing. OH....... and the project I made will be out this week!
